BRISTOL TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A former school security chief and police officer has been arrested on child pornography charges after investigators say they uncovered evidence of child sexual assault material spanning two decades.
Police said 63-year-old David Jayne was taken into custody Friday morning at his home on Granite Road in Levittown.

Detectives began investigating after receiving a tip on Tuesday and later determined Jayne had allegedly possessed child sexual assault material for about 20 years.
Neighbors said they were stunned by the allegations, noting that Jayne had long been viewed as someone entrusted with protecting the community.
"At one time he was protecting the laws, now he's breaking them. It's pretty heinous," one neighbor said.
Jayne served as a Bristol Township police officer from 1989 to 2000. He later worked as a security guard in the Bristol Township School District until 2023.
Police said they do not believe any students were involved.
In a statement, the district said it is cooperating with the investigation and added, "The district has established policies and procedures designed to protect students, and we continuously review and strengthen these measures."
Residents in Jayne's neighborhood described him as friendly and helpful, making the allegations even more difficult to process.
"He was a nice guy. Friendly. Helped you shovel your sidewalk when it snowed. It makes me really sad," one neighbor said.
Another added, "It's sickening. It really is. There are a lot of kids on this street."
Jayne's bail was set at 10% of $50,000, and police said he has posted bail. The police chief said he is "extremely disappointed" and believes Jayne is a danger to society, adding that he has asked the district attorney's office to ask the judge to reconsider the bail amount.
"It's a terrible crime against kids. If he did it, he should be prosecuted," one resident said.
